During this time, he hosted clients at many sporting and Golf charity days, learning what clients appreciated and how the days were put together. HSBC, one of his companies were heavily involved in corporate days, specialising in Golf, Rowing, Rugby and Charity days, Gavin was involved in a number of these as the COO of the Global business.

Gavin also attended a number of events over the years and saw the ‘other side’ of the sports hospitality business. He learnt what worked well on the day but also how some firms created the right atmosphere allowing business and relationships to flourish.
